Google Analytics 4 is replacing Universal Analytics
Universal Google Analytics 3 (UAxxxxx) to Google Analytics 4 (G-xxxxxxxxxx).
Google Analytics 4 is the next-generation measurement solution, and is replacing Universal Analytics. On July 1, 2023, Universal Analytics properties will stop processing new hits. If you still rely on Universal Analytics, we recommend that you complete your move to Google Analytics 4.
Universal Analytics refers to the previous generation of Google Analytics for measuring website traffic. If you set up Google Analytics for your website prior to October 14, 2020, you probably created a Universal Analytics property. Click here to read more >
Set up your/company Google Account, Google Analytics account, add a website/property to that account for your site.
If you don't do this, then you won't have any Google Data to view.
You have to do this at the beginning of the site going live to start collecting data.

STEP ONE: Set up a Google Account if you don't have one already.
STEP TWO: Set up a Google Analytics Account
STEP THREE: You then add the website (property) to your Google Account/Analytics.
STEP FOUR: IMPORTANT You then supply us with the Google Analytics Tracking Number and we will add it to your site.

We maybe able to give you a pdf or screen capture of the data.
We can go into our Google Account and check our records, export a PDF and send that to you. But we need to know exactly what you want.

Setting up Analytics for a website (Universal Analytics)
Set up Google Analytics for the first time. Click here and follow the instructions
NOTES:
You can have more than one Google account with up to 50 properties (websites) per account.
Google refers to a website as a property.
STEP ONE
Set up a Google Account.
Your email or your sites email has to be associated with a Google Account.
If you have already done this go to STEP TWO
STEP TWO
Create an Analytics account
Your first step is to set up an Analytics account.
If you have already done this go to STEP THREE
- In Admin Bottom Left (cog icon), in the Account column, click Create Account.
- Provide an account name. Configure the data-sharing settings to control which data you share with Google.
- Click Next to add the first property to the account.
STEP THREE
Create a property/website
- In Admin, Bottom Left (cog icon), look at the Account column to make sure that you've selected the right account. Then, in the Property column, click Create Property.
- Enter a name for the property (e.g. "My Business, Inc website") and select the reporting time zone and currency.
- Click Show advanced options
- Turn on the switch for Create a Universal Analytics property.
- Enter the website URL.
- At this point, choose to create
- Both a Google Analytics 4 property and a Universal Analytics property. This option
- Click Next and provide information about your business.
- Click Create.
Accept the Analytics Terms of Service and the Data Processing Amendment if prompted, and click Finish.
STEP FOUR
Get your Tracking number or Measurement ID
Using a Universal Google Analytics 3
You have to already set up a Google Analytics Account to be able to do this. See STEP ONE
- Sign into you Google Analytics account and select your Property/Website
- Click Admin. Bottom Left (cog icon)
- In the Property column, click Property Settings.
Your “UA-” ID appears at the top of the Property Settings page.
Copy the number and send it to Fraser@flightdec.com
Using a Google Analytics 4 property? Find your Measurement ID (i.e. "G-" ID)?
Click Admin, bottom left (cog icon), make sure that you have the desired account and property selected.
In the Property column, click Data Streams, then click your web data stream. Your “G-” Measurement ID appears in the upper right portion of the panel.

Share or Follow icons
Do you want to display Share or Follow icons on your website?
The following are basic instructions for using the AddThis site.
First consider what you want these icons to do and where and how you want them to be displayed on your website.
To consider:
1.
Share or Follow icons?
(You can have both and even more options on the one site.)
2.
Icons on every page or just certain pages?
3.
Customise the look and position and even what icons you want to appear.
How to use AddThis
1. Sign up to AddThis
You can have more than one website under your Login, websites are referred to as profiles.
2. Select the Dashboard Button
This will take you to the area where you add and access your websites
3. Add a Profile ( your website )
See top left menu: My Site click on the red plus icon, click onto Add Profile
Name your Profile and fill out any profile settings eg collaborators
Go to Tools in the menu
Use Add New Tool button to select the type of tools you want
Decide what type of Tools (social media icons) you want and what you want them to do.
You can go back and change these tools any time you like under settings.
Select a Tool eg Share buttons
Select Tool Type Select Continue
For Share icons: Style and customise your tools using choices of Sharing Services, Design, Share Counter, Position and Behavior
For Follow icons: Style and customise your tools using choices of Follow Services, Design, Position and Behavior
Activate your tools, you must do this for your tools to show
4. Get the Code
Go to "Get the code" in your menu. The code should look something like the following:

Copy it.
Now decide what pages in your site you want the icons to appear:
ON ALL PAGES
